Recent trends in Advanced Manufacturing have opened the door to a new industrial revolution in the US. Factories are transforming the standard design build process with new otpions like 3D printing, real time monitoring, and additive manufacturing. These processes allow for incredible material efficiency and factory automation, but also allow for tweaks to be made to customize products by management and consumers alike. These types of highly innovative practices are where the workforce in the US are at their best, and when the advantage of artificially cheap labor is removed from the equation, it is a new game entirely. The end result is creating a resurgence of interest in bringing manufacturing back to the US for a next generation of industrial manufacturing that could shift the balance of production of consumer goods in a way that hasn’t been seen in decades.
