This project tackled a highly specific challenge: retail leakage. AngelouEconomics developed a strategy to transform a declining mall site into a regional destination, recapturing spending that was flowing to competing metros.

By combining mixed-use development, transit-oriented design, and civic amenities, the plan repositioned the site as both an economic engine and a community anchor. It stands out for its targeted focus on reclaiming lost economic activity rather than pursuing abstract growth.
