AngelouEconomics has been retained by the City of Hudson, Ohio, to develop an economic development strategic plan for the City. Hudson, population 22,400, is strategically located between Akron and Cleveland, offering a small-town residential atmosphere with a historical heritage and easy access to the amenities that larger cities have to offer.
In just a few months time, AE collected survey responses from nearly 900 residents and business owners in Hudson. With this information, we were able to assess the city’s current economic conditions and selling points and identify strengths, weaknesses, and future opportunities for business recruitment. The final report, the Plan of Action, identified target industries that should be recruited, and recommend methods for marketing to and attracting new investment. It also provides strategies for keeping and expanding the businesses currently located in Hudson. Project implementation began in June 2005.
